Danielle and Jordan

Wedding Date: 5.14.16

Event Coordinators: Laura and Elizabeth

Event Captain: Katie

Danielle and Jordan were a delight to work with this past year. Creative with an infectious laughter (which really shone on the dance floor!), laid-back, and flexible which came in handy when last minute rain pushed their outdoor wedding inside. Danielle chose the Ohio Village Church for its traditional feel, “One of our favorite aspects of Ohio Village was the church- it is so beautiful and churches like that are rare to come by these days. It perfectly captured what we were hoping to achieve with our wedding day- a traditional gathering of friends and family to celebrate our marriage.” She highlights what we here at the center feel-the church is gorgeous on its own, providing a classic venue for our couples.

As we mentioned earlier, Danielle and Jordan dreamed of a gorgeous outdoor ceremony on the Ohio Village grounds with sparkling lights and guests dancing under the stars. However, rain showers threatened the event so the week of the wedding Danielle opted to move everything indoors. “The Ohio Village is unrivaled when it comes to weddings- the staff are flexible, organized, kind, cool and collected. We had to make some major changes due to weather a few days before the wedding and our coordinator remained calm throughout the whole arrangement making sure all details were sorted out so I didn’t have to stress. Laura and Elizabeth went above and beyond what I expected them to assist me with from setting my timeline to my seating arrangement. Their sweet personalities made them so easy to work with!” As Danielle mentions, we have a backup plan for all outdoor weddings and thanks to her other vendors everything was able to transition seamlessly indoors, twinkling lights and all.

Personally, we adored that she chose to rent our American House Hotel so the whole bridal party had space to get ready in a unique, Victorian setting. Check out that mirror!

Danielle’s favorite moments highlight the special details she spent months planning and went off without a hitch. “There are so many amazing memories from that night I hope to never forget, but I truly hope to never forget my dad singing “I Loved Her First” by Heartland while accompanied by strings and my brother on the guitar during the ceremony. It was a special moment that I will cherish forever. Second to that , one of my favorite moments of our reception was the cake smash- I think I surprised Jordan out of nowhere and got him really good with the cake! But then he turned around and dished it right back…and we have the pictures to prove it!”

Despite having to move the reception indoors, a good time was had by all. “We danced, we kissed, we laughed, we hugged friends- old and new, and were loved on by every person in attendance. My husband smiled wide and was the happiest and most free I’ve ever seen him.”

We’ll close with her description of the day, which we think sums it up perfectly.  “The dress, the flowers, the twinkling lights, the string quartet, the laughter of our friends and family- all against the backdrop of the beautiful Ohio Village for our perfect wedding day. We chose to have our reception at the Ohio History Center because of its rich character and charm. The possibilities are endless here- from formal to casual to contemporary to backyard wedding styles.”

We loved it Danielle! Thanks for including us in your special day and we wish you and Jordan a lifetime of happiness.
