Sammie + Clay

Wedding Date: 6.4.2016

Event Captain: Elizabeth

Sammie and Clay were a sweet, loving couple full of joy and happiness that really shone all during their wedding day.

We asked Sammie what she enjoyed most about her time with us in the Village and she had this to say, “I rented an extra space for myself and my bridesmaids to get ready in. We had so much fun talking and getting ready together.” Sammie rented the Victorian Room in our American House Hotel. It features gas lamps, glass chandeliers, and gilded mirrors to create a vintage vibe to add to your day. It’s also within walking distance of the church, providing an intimate setting for the bride and those close to her, but also being a bit of quiet in the midst of a busy day.

Asked about the best moment of the day, Sammie reflected on the ceremony, “My favorite part was the moment the double church doors opened before I walked down the aisle. The moment is forever etched in my mind seeing my wonderful friends and family while looking on towards my almost husband!”

Personally, we loved their First Look moment in our garden. A bit of a “hidden treasure” in that Sammie’s photographer, Sara Long DeVere of Sara Long Photography suggested its use for this special moment. A small area, with wrought iron tables and chairs for seating, surrounded by trellis’ covered in greenery and trumpet vines, it was the perfect backdrop for their photos.

We also asked Sammie if she had any advice for future brides planning their wedding, “take your time, have fun, enjoy the process. Break with tradition and do what will make you and your fiance happy! It will be such a fun day!” We couldn’t agree more! Thank you Sammie and Clay for letting us play a big role in your day!

Andrew and Marie

Wedding Date: 9.24.16

Event Coordinator: Elizabeth

Drew and Marie are a wonderful couple whose love for each other clearly shone all day. From her grand entrance carried through to the ceremony and their exit, this couple was all smiles for one another. It makes sense when you find out this day was three years in the making for Marie and Drew!

We asked Marie to describe her favorite moment for us,”as I walked into the church, with my arms locked to my Dad, Elizabeth said to me, “They’re all waiting for you!” and the doors of the church opened. While I couldn’t take my eyes off Drew, I could feel the love from all our friends and family staring back at me.”cemomentphotography-ceremony047.

We adored all the little details that Marie brought in to make her day more special,”The beautiful hardwood floors and the stained-glass windows of the church fit perfectly with what we wanted. With pale ivory candles decorating the altar to fresh, white rose petals lining the aisle of the church, our vision was brought to life inside the four walls of this church.”  Their photographer, Savannah, of Ce Moment Photography, is a true artist. She did a wonderful job capturing these moments as well as the many spaces our village offers!

Marie recommends the church to any potential brides out there, “If you are looking for a place full of charm and elegance for your wedding, look no further than the Ohio Village church. You won’t find a more beautiful venue for an affordable price with coordinators like the ones you’ll find here. You will not only have peace of mind on your big day, but you will have a beautiful venue that your guests will rave about for months after your wedding.”

Congrats Marie and Drew, thank you for choosing us as part of your dream wedding!

Whitney and Rich

Wedding Date: 06.14.14
Event Coordinator: Laura

A small intimate, rustic wedding in June is what every bride dreams of and Whitney and Rich’s wedding was every bit of that dream. When I met Whitney she explained to us how she and Rich decided upon the Ohio Village for their wedding and reception:
“One evening while visiting OHS, we stood together at the Altar, and Rich expressed to me how much he loved and cared for me, that he never wanted to leave my side, and that he wanted me to be his wife. From that moment forward, it became “our spot” and “our church”… the moment he made our engagement official, I knew the only place in the world that we should be on our wedding day was in “our church.”

It was very important to Whitney and Rich to do a special reveal before the ceremony, as Whitney describes,”We are very connected, he is my rock and it was the hardest thing waiting to see him.”

They fully utilized the rustic charm of the Ohio Village with her décor and details as she describes below:
“Our vision was to have a small, quaint, rustic wedding, and so that is exactly what we had. Fewer than 100 guests piled into the small church, decorated with burlap, baby’s breath, and candles.

Our reception was small, and quiet. The yards in the village provided the small children with a place to run and play, and the garden served as a gathering place for our family and friends to share in our joy. We served petite desserts, lemonade and sweet tea; it was absolutely the most perfect evening to share in the twilight! We played soft music in the background, and shared in laugher and fun with our guests.”

We’re so glad the Ohio Village Church provided the perfect setting for Whitney and Rich’s small, picturesque wedding. Best wishes to the happy couple!!
